Figure study is very fascinating to me as with many artists throughout history. The idea of pairing it with ceramic forms is something many ceramic artists have fixated on. I recreate figures from sketches and draw from my studies of anatomy.  The way flesh drapes from the body composes beautiful undulating waves. The contour is rhythmic and fascinating to imitate with clay. Sculpting figures, as well as drawing the figure directly onto the ceramic surface, begin to articulate my message about feminine ideals. Each detail of form adds to the characterization and expression.
